SPECIAL EVENT: BIRDS IN THE GARDEN TOUR
Looking for fun things to do in Phoenix? There are many attractions and events from which to choose, but if you’re keen on soaking in May’s wonderful weather, join expert birders for a morning bird walk along the tranquil and sunny garden trails of the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
TOURS ARE MONDAY MORNINGS at 7:00am: MAY THROUGH SEPTEMBER
Everyone is welcome, including novice birders. Be sure to wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and comfy walking shoes, and bring binoculars if you have them.
Visitors to Desert Botanical Garden can view 20,000-plus plant specimens in one of the world’s most renowned gardens. Selected to help save and protect endangered plants, the focus is on native flora. The cactus collection is internationally acclaimed with over a thousand examples. May is a spectacular time to visit the garden…so much is in bloom!
After strolling among the plentiful flowering plants and cactus, stop into one of four cafes:
Patio Cafe 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Grill at the Patio Cafe 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Butterfly Cafe 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Coffee Cart, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
The Garden is open seven days a week, all year long… closed only on
July 4, Thanksgiving Day and December 25.
May through September Desert Botanical Garden Hours: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
(During evening hours certain trails are closed.)

Seniors: $13.50 (60 years and older)
Students (13-18 and college with ID): $7.50
Children (3-12): $5.00
Children under 3 are admitted free
