Attend Bloomsday and Join in the Fun with the Irish Cultural and Learning Foundation in Celebration of World-Renowned Irish author James Joyce

In celebration of famed Irish author James Joyce and his pioneering novel Ulysses, Phoenix beer and literary enthusiasts will celebrate on June 12 with a “Bloomsday Celebration”  including readings, beer-tastings, first-rate Irish bands and delicious Irish food.

So, what’s Bloosmday, anyway? Of course, the name is taken from the main character in Ulysses by James Joyce…Leopold Bloom.  In the novel, Bloom journeys through Dublin meeting many unique characters while making the rounds of the city’s many pubs.  Bloomsday is celebrated in Ireland and around the globe by Irish people and James Joyce fans.

The Arizona event boasts a wide selection of specialty beers produced and poured by members of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild. Irish music provided by Seanachie, as well as The Academy Fiddlers, are part of the fun. Attendees also enjoy readings from Ulysses.
