Outdoor ConcertPhoenix has a great art and music scene and Fridays offer a lot of opportunities to take it all in for free! First and third Fridays offer great music and art every month.

There’s nothing better than a free concert especially this time of the year.  Every third Friday of each month at 7:30pm, the city sponsors a free concert at the Downtown Civic Space Park!

The Downtown Civic Space Park offers a unique urban park experience.  It’s a great oasis inside the city offering plenty of shade and spaces to lay out and relax in.  Solar panels provide power to the park so it’s eco-friendly.  There is also a lit fountain that looks amazing at night.  The kids especially will dig this.

The types of bands that perform on Third Fridays are diverse and offer a little bit of something for everyone. This past third Friday, The Blue Steel Band performed.  The Blue Steel Band has been around since 1989 and covers classic rock songs from the 70s and 80s.

There is no parking available specifically for the park as to encourage people to walk and use public transportation.  The reason is because of the intention to make the park as environmentally friendly as possible.  The park is located right off of the light rail and bus transit stations however for easy access.

If you’re into Third Friday Concerts in The Park, you’ll also love Live Music on The Lightrail.  Every first Friday of the month, the Phoenix Art Museum presents a free concert on the light rail!  Leave the car at home and ride the lightrail to and from town and enjoy a free concert.  Every first Friday of the month, it’s also free to visit more than 80 art studios and galleries in downtown Phoenix!

Enjoy Fridays in Phoenix!
