Pet lovers must have been extra good this year because there is a holiday treat coming their way in early December. The first annual BAR-S Pet Parade and Festival is sure to be filled with cuteness on Dec. 5th from 10:00am to 1:00pm in Downtown Creek Cave. The day will be packed full of contests, raffles, photo ops, food and even animal blessings performed by ordained pet chaplains.
Pet Parade Pledge Walk
This mile-long walk down Cave Creek Road raises money for The Animal Guardian Network as pets and owners parade down the streets. Each $10 pledge collected by participants enters the individual or team into a raffle for a $250 or $500 prize. For more info on the walk or to download a pledge form, click here.
Starting at 11:00am, these competitions are sure to be as adorable as they are competitive.
Best Pet Costume – Brush off that Halloween outfit or custom made costume for a chance at a bag filled with doggie treats.
Best Pet and Human Costume Duo – Imagine the possibilities of sidekicks, superheroes and other adorable ideas that will be vying for the prize of a professional photo session.
Cutest Pooch – Be glad you’re not judging who takes home the doggie treats in this category, sure to be stiff competition!
Curliest Tail – How much is that doggie in the window…? Pretty priceless to the owner of this winning pup, one would imagine. They’ll be going home with a doggie spa package.
This is just a glimpse at a full day of pet-filled events that are planned, and it’s not just limited to local residents. This is an event worth either pulling out the dog carrier or going solo and leash-free to capture the next great You Tube video moment. Be sure to get your tickets and book your lodging before this town goes to the dogs!
