If you’re looking for a unique type of Scottsdale tourism, the January ArtWalks, hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association in conjunction with other contributors, may be just the thing for you. The two special ArtWalks of the month are the ArtWalk of Champions on January 8, and the Rockin’ ArtWalk on January 15th, the former being held for the very first time, and the latter for the seventh time.

  • Art FestivalArtWalk of Champions: This takes place on Saturday, January 8, from 1pm to 4pm. It takes place in the Scottsdale Arts District, and is for those who are interested in football and the arts. Admission, as with most other ArtWalks, is free. This ArtWalk will be hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association as well as the City of Scottsdale. Don’t forget that the BCS Championship Game is held at the University of Phoenix exactly two days after the ArtWalk of Champions. This ArtWalk is a one-time event, and has never been hosted before.
  • Rockin’ ArtWalk: This event is definitely worth sticking around for after the Fiesta Bowl if that’s the reason for your January Scottsdale visit. On January 15, the seventh annual Rockin’ ArtWalk will be hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association, P.F. Chang’s Rock n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and Scottsdale Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. This ArtWalk takes place in the Scottsdale Arts District from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

If you’re not going to be in town this January or can’t make these events, not to worry. Every Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, the Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts “America’s Original ArtWalk.” The art scene in the Phoenix area is a large part of what makes Scottsdale tourism great.
