If you’re at the gym at 5 a.m. every morning and your idea of relaxation involves a very long run, then you’ll want to plan your Scottsdale trip to accommodate your active lifestyle. Sure, you’re on vacation, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your daily dose of exercise. Luckily, life in Scottsdale is just as active as you are, and there are plenty of fun events this August for gym-rats like yourself.
- Racin’ at the Basin – Lace up your running shoes on August 18 for Racin’ at the Basin, an evening 5k run at the Scottsdale Sports Complex. Admission is $15 in advance, and winners will take home some awesome prizes from Sole Sports Running Store. A first-place finish would be the ultimate souvenir to bring home from your Scottsdale trip. Not in the best shape? Don’t worry. Racin’ at the Basin is about having fun, and beginners are welcome too.
- Yoga and Music at the Park – If we told you that every Thursday you could enjoy a rejuvenating yoga session followed by live music at one of Phoenix’s most beautiful parks, you’d think it was probably too good to be true. If we added that the event is free, you’d think it was definitely too good to be true. But, it’s not. Every Thursday evening, Phoenix’s Civic Space Park hosts a free yoga and concert series. Just bring your own yoga mat, and enjoy a night of fitness and fun.
Life in Scottsdale is exciting, and it’s full of energy and fun, just like you. Others may be content lying by a pool and doing nothing all day, but the thought of that bores you to death. The word “lazy” isn’t in your vocabulary, even when you’re on vacation. You’d rather be exploring new places and engaging in activities that exercise your body and your mind. Sounds like a Scottsdale trip this month is exactly what you need.
