There are more reasons to visit Scottsdale than we have room to tell you about in this blog post. However, this month, one special event surpasses the rest and wins the gold medal. On September 14, the highly anticipated Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions comes to the arena in Glendale, a few miles west of the city of Scottsdale. It’s the perfect excuse to use up the rest of your vacation days and head to Arizona.

You watched the “fierce five” make history in the 2012 London Olympics when they became the first U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team to capture the team gold medal since the 1996 Atlanta games. Now, you’ll get a chance to witness unforgettable performances by some of the world’s best athletes, live and up close. Here’s what you can expect when you visit Scottsdale to see the show.

  • The Athletes. London may be over, but the city of Scottsdale is about to transform into a new kind of Olympic village. The Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions is a star-studded event featuring the best gymnasts from the men’s and women’s Olympic teams as well as other world champions. If you want to watch Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber show off the skills that earned them their team gold medal in London, here’s your chance. The cast also includes 2008 world all-around champion Nastia Liukin and gymnastics superstars Jake Dalton, Jonathan Horton and John Orozco.
  • The Tour. This isn’t your typical gymnastics event. Without the pressure of competition, the gymnasts can let loose and have a little fun while they showcase their talents. This tour is all about putting on a great show for the fans, and you can expect individual and group routines full of unique style, creativity and energy. Gabby Douglas is sure to flash her famous smile, and Aly Raisman will dazzle you with her floor exercise routine.

Events like this one don’t happen every day, so be sure to hit the arena when you visit Scottsdale this month. It’s bound to be a sold-out show, so book your trip and get your tickets ASAP. If these athletes could wow you through your 60-inch television screen, imagine how you’ll feel when they’re right in front of you at the arena. It’s going to be so amazing, you’ll flip!
