Whether you’re a local or you’re making the yearly trek to visit Grandma and Grandpa, the city of Scottsdale has got you covered for all those special holiday events that make the season so merry and bright. Check out these Scottsdale attractions and start planning your holiday festivities today.
- Arizona Celebration of Lights. Leave those tangled Christmas lights at home and head out to the Arizona Celebration of Lights instead. This drive-through light spectacular is a mile long and more than seven million LEDs strong, and the Santa’s Village is a great place to take the kids for hot cocoa and a picture with Santa after everyone is tired of all the oohing and ahhing. It’s happening from November 16 through January 6.
- ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo. Combine the zoo and a major holiday light display and you’ve got yourself a good time that the whole family can enjoy. Stop by the Phoenix Zoo one night between November 22 and January 9 for a dazzling display of lighted animal sculptures and music.
- CityScape Holiday Ice Rink. Strap on your skates and head to CityScape for CitySkate this holiday season, when the Valley’s largest outdoor ice rink invites the community to practice their double axels … or to just stay on two feet. The rink is open from November 24 through January 6, and the wristband entitles you to certain special deals around town. Beverages – alcoholic and otherwise – are available for purchase, too. It’s a fun night for just $12 per skater, and admission includes skate rental.
Even though the city of Scottsdale is a little too warm for traditional winter fun like snowball fights and sled rides, there are still plenty of great holiday activities and Scottsdale attractions to keep the whole family in the spirit this year. So roll down your windows, spike your hot chocolate with cayenne pepper and come out to see how Scottsdale does December!
