Forgive us for boasting, but we’ll put Scottsdale dining up against any other city in the Southwest. If you’re planning a trip to the city of Scottsdale this month, get ready to put that claim to the test at some incredible dining events. Missing them will leave you feeling like a fool all April long.

  • Slabs of BBQ Spare ribsAZ Wine & Dine. A new event hosted on April 4 by the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association, the Wine & Dine is a showcase for the best food, wine and craft beer in the state. Top chefs from the state’s most acclaimed restaurants and resorts will work culinary magic in the hip, urban Scottsdale Quarter, and you can complement those samplings with an awesome array of alcoholic beverages from Arizona’s leading boutique wineries and microbreweries. While you dine, you’ll also enjoy live jazz. Tickets are $75 in advance or $100 on the day of the event.

  • El Santo Cantina. You already know that Arizona is renowned for its Mexican cuisine, but how many restaurants can offer a resort-style pool along with great food? A highlight of the Scottsdale dining scene, the El Santo Cantina’s 15,000-square-foot patio also features an outdoor bar, VIP cabanas and even a waterfall. Pool season at El Santo begins on April 6, so you can enjoy a fantastic Baja-style menu and dozens of specialty cocktails, all while sitting poolside. Just remember to wait 30 minutes after you eat before diving in.

  • Arizona BBQ Festival. Only in its fourth year, this fest has already won the hearts of Scottsdale residents – which, if you’ve been keeping up with our blog, isn’t surprising. In addition to enjoying barbecue from the best restaurants and vendors in the area, you can groove to live rockabilly and bluegrass music, conquer the mechanical bull and sample flavored vodkas. You can also watch the Redneck Games, an Olympic-style contest that includes seed spitting, arm wrestling and a pie-eating contest. It all goes down on April 20.

Wine and haute cuisine, Mexican, or good old-fashioned grub from the grill – whatever your taste buds prefer, there’s a great Scottsdale dining event for you. So what are you waiting for? Plan your visit to the city of Scottsdale today. We’ll bring the food.
