No Scottsdale trip is complete without a visit to Chase Field, the downtown Phoenix baseball stadium that’s home to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-backs are tops in the National League’s West division right now, and they show no signs of slowing. Each of these three games would make for a memorable family outing – you might even get to take home some sweet souvenirs!

  1. D-backs vs. Padres (Sat., July 27). Okay, this is bound to be a great baseball game, but let’s talk about those souvenirs. See, the first 20,000 fans through the gates on July 27 get a free Diamondbacks-themed luchador mask. If you already know what that means, you’re probably finding tickets for July 27 right now. A luchador, for the rest of us, is a masked Mexican wrestler. We guarantee the kids will go absolutely bonkers over these things, so you’ll probably want to get there early to avoid disappointment – the game starts at 5:10 p.m.phoenix baseball pitch

  1. D-backs vs. Mets (Sat., August 10). There’s another cool Phoenix baseball giveaway at this game: Paul Goldschmidt bobbleheads. Paul was just selected as a 2013 All-Star game participant, and it’ll be his first appearance ever. That’s impressive enough, but he’s been a Major Leaguer for less than two years. Goldschmidt’s teammates have nicknamed him “America’s First Baseman,” but we’re hoping someday we’ll be calling him “MVP.” If an All-Star bobblehead isn’t enough to get you excited, it’ll also be “Mystery Ball Night.” We’d tell you what that’s all about, but it would kind of spoil the fun, wouldn’t it?

  1. D-backs vs. Orioles (Wed., August 14). The bad news is that there aren’t any special giveaways for this game, but since the Baltimore Orioles haven’t visited Arizona since 2007, the matchup itself is a real rarity. And even though we’ll be rooting for the home team (as always), this will give us the opportunity to see Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis in action. Davis is one of the most powerful hitters in baseball right now. Pick up tickets today, and don’t forget to bring your glove – you might end up with a souvenir after all!

Phoenix baseball is a hot commodity right now. The D-backs are making a serious run at the post-season, sure, but an evening at the ballpark is something the whole family can enjoy. Don’t forget to stop by Chase Field during your Scottsdale trip, and leave a little room in your suitcase for a home run ball or two.
